IWTYAL 100: Language learners around the world reveal their best tips!

This is episode 100 of the podcast!

In this episode we hear from you – the listeners.

In this episode:

I asked you to tell me the single biggest lesson about language learning you’ve learnt from listening to 100 episodes of the podcast.

I was struck by the diversity of people around the world who got in touch – everyone learning different languages, in different countries.

It was truly inspiring, and it reminded me how we are all striving to improve our lives by learning languages, and are making the world a better place in the process.

So interesting to heard my voice almost the end of the episode!!! Hahaha!!

  • Israel Lai

Omg Daniel from Switzerland – what’s the name of your podcast?
Emma from Australia – do you have Cantonese parents? If you didn’t I’d be really impressed (and taken aback by the accent and word choice :p)
And Olly – how could I have forgotten one piece of advice I got from you personally! It’s about the (admittedly technical) concept of stressed-timed and syllable-timed languages. It probably wouldn’t have been so fitting for the episode, but you won’t believe how that casual mention really helped me (…I think). Thanks again ^^

Hi Israel Lai! It is called my fluent podcast. You can find it on Stitcher. But don’t laugh! 🙂

    • It’s funny, isn’t it, how the smallest things stick with us!! Thanks for your (windy) message!

      • Israel Lai

Yea, about that…I had to do that on an impulse because I knew if I waited until I was home, I’d get shy again :p

I know right, when she started speaking I thought she was a hong konger st first until she mentioned where she was from ??? so impressed, I need to work more on my accent but for now just getting to grips with basic conversation first

For me the best piece came from Dina from Los Angeles:
It is better to speak and make a mistake in a foreign language than to have never spoken at all!
    So true!
